Graduated from Dewey High School in 2011 and attended Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas on a Rodeo Scholarship. Ryan played defensive end for Dewey High, and took the Bulldoggers to the state semifinals in 2009 and was named defensive end of the year for District 3-A in 2010. He qualified for the Collegiate National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming in 2013. He was the 2012 Rookie of the year for the American Finals Rodeo in Tulsa, OK. Ryan was just 15 minutes from his home south of Lansing when a tree fell on top of his car in a storm on his way home from a rodeo. If he set his mind to something he was going to accomplish it, that's just the way he was. He enjoyed four-wheelers and riding a bareback bronc, competing in a rodeo, running around with his friends. He was very competitive and didn't want anybody beating him. He never quit something he started. He was known for his kindness, strong work ethic and sense of humor. Ryan was an intelligent and respectful young man.
This is a way to remember Ryan and to honor him. Please mail applications to: Dewey Bulldogger Booster Club PO Box 62 Dewey, OK 74029-0062
